We're Married! So now what?

We're Married! So now what?

Congratulations, you both nailed it. Boom, you’re married!

Countless hours of planning, maybe some tears and quite a few champagnes and now wonderful memories to look back on. As quickly as it comes, It's over which is the sad part. The honeymoon was bliss and you’re now both rocking it as the best husband and wife team.

While you gear up for life as husband and wife, there are often some tasks that get overlooked. You know, the ones that make us go “Aw that’s right, that has to be done..”Updating your details can be a drawn out process which many of us leave on the back burner for a while. Preserving our wedding memories are just as important but these tasks can also get lost among our busy schedules.

What do you do with all the left over wedding things? Don’t forget about your ‘Thank you’ cards but we will get to that later.

Let’s take a journey with an after marriage to-do list! We will try and make this as exciting as humanly possible.

You’ve changed your name. A comprehensive suggestions list below so all bases are covered:

  • Drivers Licence
  • Medicare
  • Passport – your accommodation name and passport name must match.
  • Bank accounts
  • Home Loan
  • Electoral
  • Centrelink
  • Trusty old country club / memberships
  • Email signature
  • Voicemail
  • Facebook – most important. Remember you need to be ‘Facebook Official’ right.
  • Email address – time to get an adult email address. Goodbye titiz_mcgee@hotmail.com
  • Car / loans
  • Close Tinder account
  • Apple ID
  • Phone / Bills – sharing is caring.
  • PayPal – Online retailers will love you for it

Off-loading your wedding bits and pieces:

  • Selling your dress – Websites such as ‘Still White’ is the way to go. Ensure it is dry cleaned.
  • Wedding props and decorations – sell on ebay, gumtree, Facebook groups
  • Ensure all hired items are returned to their respective suppliers

Sending out ‘Thank you’ notes:

  • It is common curiosity to send one out to each couple no more than 2 months after your wedding. We can help you out here: Just click on the images below.

Preserving your memories:

  • Canvas print of you both
  • Have your bouquet dried and preserved in a box frame with other wedding trinkets
  • Have your vows printed or frame your vows if they were hand written
  • Make a playlist of the key songs and music you had at your wedding and keep for special occasions
  • Get a tea towel printed with your faces on it. Or not..
  • Keep a box or folder of your wedding stationery such as an invite, save the date, place card, menu, program etc as a keepsake memento

Review your wedding vendors:

  • Let the world know how wonderful they were. This will give other brides reassurance when planning their day

We hope that was fun but most importantly informative. Remember you’re best friends of life, husband and wife.
